Jana Anderson was initially discovered by Prince singing in a Minneapolis nightclub he frequented. She went on to sing for him at Paisley Park for 5 years on many projects. Some of Prince’s releases where you can hear Jana are on “The Time’s” radio hit “Shake” on the “Graffiti Bridge” soundtrack, and lead vocals on “M.P.L.S.” on “1-800-NEW-FUNK”, where she sang the first and last songs on that CD.

Other stars Jana has performed, toured, or recorded with include Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Jewel, Paul Simon, Huey Lewis, Chris Isaak, Sheena Easton, Jimmy Buffet, and many more.

She’s performed on television shows The View, The Tonight Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Today Show, Dick Clarke’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, and the American Music Awards. 

Her early years include Star Search, Pageants (winning swimsuit & talent competitions) & singing many local & national commercials for Target, Pepsi, Polaris, Valley Fair, Cost Cutters, Edina Realty, and several News Stations.  

Jana has toured extensively as a backing vocalist for some of the music industry's biggest names, including Stevie Nicks, Don Henley, Fleetwood Mac, and Jewel, Jana has also performed on almost every major television variety show, such as the Tonight Show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. She has sung on recordings by Prince, Don Henley and the “Live in Boston” DVD/CD by Fleetwood Mac. Other highlights of her career also include appearing as a live guest performer with Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder and Celine Dion .

Stepping out front with her own brand of country rock and crossover fun music, Jana performs regularly throughout the Midwest with her band. Her dynamic vocal power and range are trademarks, and her on-stage fire and riveting stage persona continue to captivate audiences everywhere.  She was recently selected to play the Temecula Valley International Film and Music Festival by a panel of radio station and record industry executives, where she played songs from her recently completed debut CD “Never Say Never.”
